Supportiv has received its third patent, on a multi-functional design element of its chat interface. The unique interface design allows users to view precision-matched resources without leaving their peer support chat.

In technical terms, this patent describes “the ornamental design for a display screen or portion thereof with an animated graphical user interface, as shown and described” for a multi-state side-panel that is dynamically-populated with resources.

If you’ve used a Supportiv chat, you’ve seen this functionality. When you receive a hyper-specific resource recommendation, based on the needs you’ve expressed in-chat, you might expect each recommendation to clog up the chat feed – but that doesn’t happen. Instead, resources surface within a slide-out, animated overlay, which can be opened and closed at your convenience. When you open this overlay, you can even still see the chat progressing underneath!

This unique design allows users to receive the benefits of both a peer support chat and self-help or stepped-care resources simultaneously, without allowing one to fully distract from the other.
